Our hotel is the only hotel in the centre of Tihany, one
of the oldest villages in Hungary. It was built on the
peninsular on the north side of Lake Balaton, which is
the largest fresh water lake in Europe. The Tihany
peninsular is famous for its Benedictine Abbey, founded
in the 11th century.
We have 14 extremely comfortable en suite double rooms
and one family suite. A separate apartment sleeps four
people.
For those wanting to relax, the Allegro Hotel has an
attractive swimming pool, also two sun decks ideal for
reading a good book while enjoying a glass of wine –
accompanied with a bottle of sun oil. These roof gardens
are floodlit at night. The village is on our doorstep
and a hire car or taxi can be organised when guests plan
to visit the Hévíz Spa or the bird sanctuary near
Keszthely.
We also have a superb spa nearby – our Receptionists
will be happy to book brilliant massages and beauty
treatments. Sporting guests can play golf at the Royal
Balaton Golf Club, go riding, fish and hire bicycles to
explore the countryside.Our captain will instruct new
sailors.
We serve breakfast from 8.00 to 10.30 but lunch or
dinner are not available. A wide choice of restaurants
are only minutes walk from the hotel. Additionally our
friendly bar is open most of the day, from coffee-time
through to nightcaps. Excellent champagnes and famous
whiskies can be seen on our shelves. Alternatively a
horse and carriage can be arranged to take our guests up
to Allegro’s own vineyard and wine cellar, an ideal
place to enjoy a picnic while appreciating the splendid
view over the crater lake.
